Beijing Olympic Games 2008

The Beijing Olympic Games is an exciting sport games. Singapore waited for 48 years just to win a silver medal for table tennis. For table tennis team segment, Singapore got silver, China got gold and Korea got bronze. There are many different sports played at the Olympics. They are football, hurdling, cycling, etc. I liked to watch the different people play different sports.

National Day

Last Friday I celebrated National Day in school. We celebrate National Day because it is the day Singapore became independent. I think our school's National Day celebration was fun. I liked the seed activity the most. I don't think we need to improve on our National Day celebration.

Racial Harmony Day

Racial Harmony Day is a day to celebrate and enjoy each other's company. It is important to have racial harmony because without racial harmony we will have fights and wars because two races can't accept each other. I think the different races get along in my neighbourhood and school. I have a few friends from different races. I got to meet my first friend from a different race when Ii was K1. We can help to keep racial harmony by getting along with other people from other races.

cyber bullying

Cyberbullying is bullying people online by calling the person names, blocking him/her from things like chats. Some people cyberbully other people because they think other people will think the cyberbully is cool. You can stop the cyberbullying in different ways like ignoring the cyberbully if the cyberbully has no one to bully he will stop cyberbullying.

Netiquette

Netiquette is important when you are chatting online. If there was no such thing as netiquette people would be saying a lot of bad things about other people. Some people don't observe netiquette and say bad things about other people and the other person feels upset. If you were the other person you would also feel upset so think about what you post if you wouldn't like to be sent that message why would the other person like the message.

Earthquakes

I checked Wikipedia. An earthquake is the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves. People can stay in their homes if there is an earthquake because it may be safer. If there are parts of the ceiling falling , you can hide under a strong table.

Scientists can detect earthquakes by using a device called a seismometer. Earthquakes have usually occurred in the countries inside the earthquake zone. Some of the countries that are in the earthquake are China and Japan. I don't think there will be an earthquake in Singapore because Singapore is not in the earthquake zone. However Singapore will sometimes vibrate because the earthquakes nearby are very strong.

My Fractured Elbow

My elbow is fractured because my classmate, Rishi, accidentally pushed me while he was playing catching with other boys. The lady in the office sprayed something on my arm and told me it was a muscle pull. Mummy said the lady at the office should not have assumed it was a muscle pull because if she rubbed a fracture too hard, it would have been displaced and I would have to go for an operation to fix it.

My mother brought me to my doctor and I had to have an x-ray done. The x-ray report said that there was no obvious fracture. To be safer, the doctor asked us to visit a bone specialist to check my arm because I was in alot of pain. Before we went to the bone specialist, Mummy brought me to have lunch at Ajisen Ramen to cheer me up.

When the bone specialist saw my x-ray results, he said I had fractured my elbow. It was a minor injury, but he had to my arm in a cast and gave me a sling to wear. He said the cast had to be on for three weeks but it would only heal for about 73% after those three weeks. For these two more weeks I can't do a lot.

My Birthday Party

On 19th April, I had a birthday party. My birthday party was held in the function rooms near the entrance to the condo I live in - NUOVO. My mummy's friend's mother is a balloon sculptor. She gave me a present which was a balloon sculpure of Batman.

She gave my younger brother a balloon sculpture of a person in an aeroplane.

She gave my baby brother a balloon sculpture of a big fish caught on a fishing line.

After we ate lunch. the aunty taught us how to make balloon sculptures like a bee, flower, fish, giraffe and dog.

The aunty also made other balloons for us. Like a frog eating a bug.

Mummy got me a Batman birthday cake.

I also met my old friend Sheldon again. I also received some presents from my friends and relatives. I was very happy that my mummy had held a birthday party for me.

What I Did During My Holidays

During my June holidays I stayed at home. I studied and played games with my brother because I couldn't do much because I had a fractured elbow I couldn't go out and play for the whole month.During the holidays my mummy brother and I watched a movie called the happening. In the movie the plants give of a kind of scent that makes people kill themselves. Sometimes my family and I went out to eat lunch and dinner. Yesterday my family and I went to a hotel to eat. I also had fun playing with my mummy's friend's son. Ihad a great time during my june holidays.

Friendship

Friendship to me is something like gold. You need friends around when you need help with something. You can also tell friends when you are worried or afraid. You can develop friendship by getting to know someone better. It doesn't matter if the friends you make are from other countries. It is important for Singaporeans to make friends with people from other countries too. If we don't make friends with people from other countries then there may be a war when people do not understand one another.

I have a few friends in school. I made friends with my classmates. I also have some friends from other classes from Primary 1, Primary 2 and Primary 3. I do not see the friends I made from other classes often. I usually play football with Yew Kit and Zhi Kang during recess. I have also joined Football as a CCA. During recess, I usually eat with Darren and Yong Soon.

Computer Games

I like to play games from Y8.com. I like to play the games from Y8.com because they are fun. My favourite game is "The Fight for Glorton". I usually play the game with my brother, Ethan. In the game you can choose to play by yourself, with a family member or with a friend. In the multiplayer mode, you can choose to play with up to four players. To be the winner of the game, you have to hit all the players to the right side, left side or up. If the player has no more lives in the game, then he/she is out of the game. If you are the only one alive then you win the game.

In the single player mode, there are three types of modes. The first one is quick fight, the second one is endurance and the last one is one-on-one. In the quick fight mode, you have to choose three characters to fight with each other. You can join in by dragging the coin marked P1 to a character. In the endurance mode, you have to choose a character to use. There will be other characters falling down from the sky. In the one-on-one mode, you have to choose a character for the computer and yourself you. You can play it now. Just click here.

But don't play it nonstop and everyday. Computer games can be addictive. Mummy does not allow Ethan and me to play with the computer everyday. She says it is not good for our eyes and we should rest them. We also have many board games at home to play with.

Chinese New Year 2008

On Wednsday, I didn't have to do work. I went to school for two hours. In the afternoon, I had an early dinner with my paternal grandparents at Soup Restaurant. Later that night, I had a second reunion dinner with my maternal grandfather. I couldn't eat very much because I was sleepy and full.

The next day, I went to my maternal grandfather's house to wish him a happy new year and to drink sweet soup. Then, I had lunch at my paternal granduncle's house. They had prepared the same dishes as every year - mee siam and spaghetti. After that, we visited my daddy's grandmother. My great grandmother is turning 95 this year! We then visited my mummy's aunt. Uncle Roy let me play his PSP. I had a lot of fun playing the soccer game. I had many red packets that day.

On the second day of Chinese New Year, we went to my daddy's aunt's house for lunch. There were many people there, so my brothers and I got many of red packets again. I brought my Anderson fund-raising card to ask for donations. Later that day, we visited my mummy's old Chinese teacher. That night, we had dinner with my grandfather's brothers and sisters. Ethan and I took turns going around asking our grandaunts, granduncles, uncles and aunts to donate money to the school. My grandfather paid for the dinner. The bill was $903! Then I went home and Ethan and I counted how much money we got for the school. I was so tired that I slept almost right after my father switched the lights off in our room. That was a memorable Chinese New Year.

Word Confusion

My First IT Lesson

My first IT lesson was on the second day of school. During my first IT lesson, Mdm Phua asked us to create a blog account. Before recess Mdm Phua taught us how to create a blog. After recess, we went to the computer lab. I was very excited. In the lab Mdm Phua explained a few things to us. Then, she asked us to look for the computer with our BC number. Unfortunately, my computer and the other computers I tried after that could not work so I needed to share a computer with my friend, Yew Kit. But I didn't get to create my blogger account because there was no time, so I did it at home. I made a slight mistake, so my Mummy corrected it for me.

My Brothers and Me

Today, I asked my mummy to teach me how to upload photos onto my blog because I wanted to write about my brothers. I also wanted to show my friends my brothers' photos. I was very excited when I saw the photos appear on my draft.

This my baby brother, Ian. He just turned one in December last year. He is cute and chubby. He can now walk on his own without holding anything. He can walk but he likes to crawl. He is very lazy and doesn't like to stand. He also likes to beat people.

This is a photo of me and my two brothers. The other boy is my other brother and he will turn eight in July. He is very loud and mummy says the three of us will make her deaf soon. Ethan is fat. Daddy says he is a sack of potatoes. He likes to joke with me. He is fun to be with.

This is a photo of me playing with my two brothers. Ian is screaming, Ethan is playing with Ian and I'm just rolling around. Three of us are wearing t-shirts that my mummy bought from Bangkok. Ian's shirt has the word S.W.A.T, my shirt has the word Police and Ethan's shirt has the word Army.

My first week in school

In the first week of school we only needed to go to school for three days.I was very excited and happy because I had many things to tell my friends about the fun I had during the December Holidays .My brother Ethan and I also received very exciting and fun Christmas presents from our parents.We each had a Nintendo DS Lite with many games to play.I needed to sleep at 9.30pm the night before the first day of school in case I could not wake up in the morning. My parents have changed the time to 10pm every night because I wanted to watch a Chinese show which ends at 10pm every night.I needed to wake up at 6.50am.I was very sleepy when Mummy or one of the maids woke me,but I still got up to brush my teeth and wash my face.

For the first three days my Mummy or Daddy and a maid sent me to and from school.On the first day of school we gathered at the parade square.Mr Tan gave a speech.He wanted more students to have more self-discipline.He also introduced us to some new teachers.I was surprised when I knew Ms Phua was our Form Teacher again and was happy.She told us she that she was now married and did not change her surname,so she was now Mdm Phua.On the second day of school,Mdm Phua asked us to create our own blog.I did not get the chance to create my Blogger account because I had to share a computer with my friend,and there was not enough time.I went home to create my account.I made a little mistake too.The URL address I keyed in was not what Mdm Phua asked for.On Friday my Mummy helped me to correct the mistake.I look forward to blogging like my Mummy.
